We collaborated with MECCA'S M-Power and Wolf Tide Films, to present a breathtaking journey celebrating the power of womxn, and the inspiring words of 2018 Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Melanie Mununggurr-Williams. As an Aboriginal writer, poet, wife, and mother, Melanie's work is deeply rooted in family, place and her identity. We captured Melanie's performance as she passionately speaks her poetry against a green screen, immersing her in two distinctive sets of landscapes crafted using the powerful Unreal Engine 5. We created contrasting environments to represent both a post utopian world and a vivid, beautiful natural world to compliment the essence of Melanie’s poetry. By seamlessly compositing the live action footage directly into the UE environment, we crafted stunning visual transitions through rectangular portals that lead viewers on an exploration of her message of hope and strength.
I am the stars, the light, the galaxies, Settling the dust, I rise and lead. With melanin and feminine energy, We stand tall, our voices raised in unity. Transforming worlds, one poem at a time, The future is womxn, embracing our prime.
